Things to Know Before Visiting JAMB Office in Lagos
Before heading to the JAMB Lagos office in Ikoyi, there are a few things worth knowing that can save you time and frustration.
First, confirm that your issue genuinely cannot be resolved online. Most JAMB services including result checking, admission status updates, and basic profile corrections are available through the JAMB portal. Visiting the office for something you can fix from your phone is a wasted trip, especially given how busy this office gets.
If you have already tried the portal and the issue is still unresolved, go early. The JAMB office in Lagos is one of the busiest in Nigeria. Candidates queue from as early as 7:00 AM during peak periods like registration season and admission windows. Arriving late means you could spend the entire day waiting or be turned away entirely.
Go with your JAMB registration number, a valid means of identification, and any documents related to your issue. Officials will ask for these before attending to you.
Before visiting, you can try checking your JAMB admission status online or follow our JAMB CAPS guide to resolve admission issues directly from your phone.
When Should You Visit JAMB Office in Lagos?
Only visit the JAMB office in Lagos when your issue cannot be resolved through the portal or by phone. The office is best suited for situations like these:
- Biometric verification problems that failed at your CBT centre
- Profile correction issues that could not be completed online
- Admission complaints not reflected or updated on JAMB CAPS
- Missing results or serious result errors
- Change of institution or course that requires physical documentation
For anything outside this list, use the JAMB portal or follow our step-by-step guides on this site. You will get a faster resolution and avoid the queues entirely.

I have a issue with my jamb result this year can’t be able to check my jamb result on my sim because my sim is blocked and sold it outside to another customer
Hello, Oluwaseyi.
Don’t panic, you can still access your result even without your original SIM.
Since the line has been reassigned, the SMS method (55019 or 66019) won’t work for you.
Instead, try any of these:
1. Check via the JAMB portal: Log in to https://jamb.gov.ng/efacility using your email and password. From your dashboard, you can view or print your result slip.
2. Visit a CBT centre or JAMB office: If you can’t access your portal, go to any accredited CBT centre or JAMB office with your JAMB registration number and a valid ID. They’ll help you retrieve and print your result.
You’ll be fine ☺️
i use my Daddy email to register for jamb, I’ve printed my slip, seen my 2026 utme result but can’t log in on my jamb portal. the password sent to the email i use for registration is not bringing my name. it’s bringing my brother name instead of mine. because my brother has use the email when he wanted to write jamb in 2017. can jamb office help me create new profile or wat can i do that won’t affect my admission?
Hello, Inioluwa.
That happened because the email was already used for your brother’s JAMB profile.
Do not create a new profile.
Just go to any accredited JAMB CBT centre or JAMB office and request an email correction. They will help you fix it and link your own profile properly.
It will not affect your admission once it is corrected early.

I want to change my Local Government that is on my jamb portal
Hello, Akinseye Olayinka.
Thank you for reaching out. To change your Local Government Area on your JAMB profile, follow these steps:
1. Log in to the JAMB e-facility portal at efacility.jamb.gov.ng with your registered email and password.
2. On your dashboard, locate the sidebar menu, click on Correction of Data, and select State/LGA.
3. Select your examination year (2026) and enter your JAMB Registration Number.
4. Generate an invoice and pay the official fee, which stands at ₦2,500 (excluding minor bank or Remita processing charges).
5. After successful payment, enter the new State and Local Government Area you wish to change to and submit.
Please note these highly important requirements to complete the process.
The Indemnity Form. As soon as you submit the change online, the portal will generate an Indemnity Form. You must print this form out, take it to your institution’s registry to be signed and approved, and then submit the signed copy to the nearest physical JAMB State Office. The change will not reflect on your profile until JAMB processes this physical form.
Bring proof. Make sure you have supporting documents ready, such as your birth certificate and an official LGA Identification Letter from your local government secretariat, as the school or JAMB office will demand to see it before signing your form.
Review carefully. This correction is typically permitted only once, so ensure the spelling and details exactly match your local government certificate before submitting.
If you encounter any glitches while generating the invoice or making the payment online, it is highly recommended to just walk into the nearest accredited JAMB CBT centre or JAMB office to let them handle the processing and biometrics for you.
