Do not create a new profile.

I want to change my Local Government that is on my jamb portal

1. Log in to the JAMB e-facility portal at efacility.jamb.gov.ng with your registered email and password.
2. On your dashboard, locate the sidebar menu, click on Correction of Data, and select State/LGA.
3. Select your examination year (2026) and enter your JAMB Registration Number.
4. Generate an invoice and pay the official fee, which stands at ₦2,500 (excluding minor bank or Remita processing charges).
5. After successful payment, enter the new State and Local Government Area you wish to change to and submit.

I wrote JAMB for the second time in 2025 and applied to study Physiotherapy at the University of Lagos. However, I was not offered admission into Physiotherapy. Instead, I was transferred to Zoology, which is the course I am currently studying. Since Zoology was not the course I intended to study, I did not accept or reject the transferred admission on my JAMB CAPS.
This year, in 2026, I wrote JAMB for the third time and applied to study Nursing at the University of Benin (UNIBEN). I am currently awaiting admission into Nursing at UNIBEN.

Hi, Thank you for the clarification. I visited Jamb zonal office at Ikoyi yesterday and they told me to proceed with my Uniben’s admission, that the unilag admission won’t affect it. Also, they said that the admission that I didn’t reject or accept last year does not affect my uniben admission too. But to be on the safe side I logged into my jamb portal this morning and rejected the admission on my caps. Was that the right thing to do ?

The reason your name has not updated on JAMB is that JAMB pulls identity data directly from NIMC via your NIN. Since your NIN still carries three names, JAMB will keep displaying three names no matter what correction you did at their office. You need to fix the NIN first.
Visit an official NIMC office, apply for a Modification of Name to remove your middle name, and collect an updated NIN slip with just two names. Then take that new NIN slip plus your 2023 JAMB correction receipt back to the Ikoyi JAMB office and ask them to re-synchronise your profile with your updated NIN.
When DE registration opens next year, generate your profile code with the updated NIN and everything will pull through cleanly. Fix the NIN first and the rest will fall into place!

Explain that you accepted the 2023 offer but never registered or attended classes due to financial reasons. Using that exact phrase will help the officer assist you faster.
Bring your 2023 admission details, your 2026 registration slip, a valid ID, and receipts from your previous visit.

When you registered in 2026, JAMB’s system recognised your NIN and pulled up your old 2021 profile automatically. Writing a new email on the form did not override it in their database.
Visit an official JAMB office or accredited CBT centre in person and request a Profile Email Update. Explain that your old SIM is lost and unrecoverable and that you need your new email linked to your profile. Bring your NIN slip, your 2026 registration slip, and your new email logged into your phone.
Once updated, go to efacility.jamb.gov.ng, click Forgot Password, and use your new email to regain full access. Go as early as possible before admission lists come out!
